The Mathews Bridge in Jacksonville was struck by a cargo ship’s ramp, resulting in nearly $2.5M in damages and heavy congestion as the bridge has to be closed until repairs were made. Within hours of the incident, FDOT asked JEAces to provide a team to oversee administration and inspection of the emergency repair.
Each of the construction professionals selected had extensive experience working on the Mathews Bridge. In fact, these team members have provided project management and inspection services for nearly every FDOT project on the Mathews Bridge for the past 15 years.
FDOT executed an emergency repair contract with Superior Construction Company, and the JEAces team was on site as the project got underway immediately. The work was completed ahead of schedule.
