We are proud to announce that the JEACES team was selected by the Florida Department of Transportation District Two to provide CEI services on the North First Coast Outer Beltway Project.
This design/build project is valued at $84.5 million. The team is in contract negotiations and expects to have its portion of the project completed by the end of 2015.
The North project will provide a high-speed limited-access corridor on SR 23 between Argyle Forest Boulevard and I-10, while the soon-to-be-advertised South project will extend to SR 21 (Blanding Boulevard). FDOT also plans to extend the corridor north to US 90 (Beaver Street), which will benefit commuters and commercial freight traffic.
“It’s a great project,” said Greg Graden, JEACES Project Manager, “We’ve been tracking this project for years.”
Our team includes several subconsultants – GPI, ETM, C&W, Mehta, JBS, Ghiotto, and Aerial Innovations.
“You can’t win a project of this scale by yourself. It takes a group effort,” Graden said.
No new toll facilities have been constructed in District Two in decades. The new facilities are expected to generate economic activity in Duval County and north Clay County. District Two will manage and construct the project, but the Florida Turnpike Enterprise will operate the new roadway and tolling facilities.
